7 Months week 2
Dressing your baby for the adventure
Babies around this stage are very curious and get around a lot, assist your baby by clothing her in clothes that allow her to move freely and not slippery. Let her be free to move and explore her surroundings without anything standing in her way.
Here is how:
- Babies learn to crawl and walk best barefoot, so leave off your babys shoes & socks while shes crawling around.
- Avoid clothing your crawling little girl in dresses, which might temper with her movement when the fabric gets stuck under her knees.
- Make sure the surface she crawls on is smooth and clean to avoid her eating dirt and getting her knees bruised.
- Avoid tight fitting clothes if possible leave her in her nappies and a loose fitting top.
- Avoid fabrics that are delicate as they can get stained very easily and be ruined.
- If you are going to dress her in overalls, use ones that are roomy and durable, allowing your baby plenty of freedom to move.
- Cloth your baby in right fitting pants, not baggy pants. Baggy pants can bunch at your babys knees, which will make it difficult for her to get around.
- Buy clothing with non-slip material on the potions affected by crawling e.g. knee, elbows, feet bottoms and toes.
- Most importantly avoid constantly saying no to your baby, only say it if it really necessary as this can leave her confused and soon, she wont be paying attention to your protest as it will lose value, she wont really understand the meaning of NO because you say no to everything.
Imitating sounds
Your baby can imitate most sounds you make to her, though not as clearly but youve heard the million dollar words Mama and Dada even though she probably said mama to dada and dada to mama, relax shes getting there. Sing that nursery rhyme and clap your hands mom youve got a special person wholl sing with you and also clap their hands while joyfully cheering on you. Thats right your baby! Dont forget to say goodbye when you leave, she can wave goodbye though i doubt it will be with a smile.
