7 Months week 4
Your daring 7 month old
From the day you found out you were pregnant, your baby has maintained that special spot in your heart. But by month seven, she knows it and she intends to keep it that way. Your baby will push the limits in all her activities, in fact she’s already learning how far he can go.
Why is it that everyone from grandma to your childcare provider considers her an angel at lunch but throws sweet potatoes at you at dinner? It’s because baby knows that your love and acceptance (if not your patience) are endless. Bear in mind that it’s good for baby to start maintaining some control over her surroundings, but as her parent, you need to determine how far he can go.
Figuring out how objects relate
If you’ve noticed that your baby is fascinated by a simple game of peek-a-boo, it’s because she’s also starting to understand object permanence and loves games where people or things appear and disappear. In fact the easiest way to keep a 7 month old baby occupied is by hiding an object under a blanket for her to discover, she won’t rest until she gets it.
Your baby is beginning to understand how objects relate to one another. Let her help you when you switch off the light and say lights off. Soon she will understand the relationship between switching the lights off and the room suddenly getting dark.
She may be able to sort toys, grouping items such as blocks by size or color.
