Bottle Feeding
For many new mums bottle feeding is an absolute necessity. Poor breastfeeding education, problems with latching and milk supply, illness and postnatal depression, make breastfeeding either extremely difficult or impossible. For other mums, bottle feeding is their first and only choice. As health practitioners insist that breast feeding is the best option for your baby, the choice to bottle feed can make many new mums feel inadequate and often guilty. Ignore everyone else’s comments. Your decision to bottle feed, is your own and your baby will get very good nutrition from formula milk. If you decide to bottle feed, your healthcare provider will probably give you medication, to prevent the milk from coming in. Otherwise you could opt to allow the milk to come in, but dry out naturally. This can be painful, as your breasts will initially become engorged with milk.
