4-Week-Old Baby
Are you talking to me? Yes, she is and your baby wants you to talk back!
Your baby is chatting away now, the only way that she knows how; cooing and gurgling. Spend lots of time with her mimicking her actions and sounds. She’ll absolutely love that and it will encourage her to continue “talking”.
Tummy time is also crucial around now. At first, your baby may dislike being put onto her tummy and may cry in protest. This is one of your first lessons in perseverance; the more your baby lies on her tummy (supervised) the more used to it she’ll become. Start out by having a few seconds of tummy time, increasing the time day by day, as your baby becomes more used to it. This will give her a fantastic opportunity to strengthen her neck and back muscles.
Your baby’s fingers and toes will become the most fascinating things in her little world. She’ll spend ages grasping her hands and feet.
You’re feeling more confident now mom. Having this delicate little bundle in your home isn’t quite as frightening any more is it? Go out for a stroll with your baby in her pram, visit some friends and start getting your baby more involved in your life.
